Balanced-Billing gives you the power to virtually eliminate the surprise of how much your bill is after a high energy usage periods during the hot summer months or cold winter months.

From now on you will know how much it will be. Here's how the program works. Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power will analyze your energy usage over the previous 12 month period starting August 1 of the last year to July 1 of this year. We will add the total annual amount then divide it by 12 to get an average monthly amount. Then we anticipate the next year's energy adjustment factor (known as a tracker) and we arrive at a monthly payment. We will bill you the average amount that was calculated for 11 months of the year. The bill on the 12th month will be the "settle-up" month. The settle-up month bill will be adjusted, up or down, based upon your actual energy usage the during year. Why is there a settle up month? Energy usage each year varies upon many different factors. Changes in weather conditions or installing a new appliance you installed, can cause an increase or decrease in your consumption of electricity.
